The Edgerton Village Council met on February 18th in regular session. The meeting was rescheduled from February 16th due to weather.

A motion was approved to reclassify Officer Eberly from a probationary Police Officer to a Regular Part-Time Officer after completion of her field training.

The Council also accepted the resignation of Part-Time Officer Kirk Stickney effective immediately. Finally, in personnel, Council approved a motion to advertise for a Full-Time Street Maintenance Position.

Council also approved an agreement with Clemans, Nelson & Associates for personnel services.

They currently assist 100 Ohio municipalities with labor relations, personnel management, regulatory compliance, supervisory training, and civil service requirements.

Council approved a motion to retain Poggemeyer Design Group to complete a mercury variance application for the Ohio EPA.

Council heard a presentation from Scott Hartley in regards to the Wildcat field at Gerhart Park. Currently there are safety concerns with the field. The field is open and has no fencing.

The Edgerton Summer Recreation Association will provide $10,000 of the $13,880 project which will include 6 and 4 foot high fencing, 2 walk gates, and 1 drive gate.

Work will be completed by Strait-Line Fence and project completion is set for May 1st. Council approved the donation from the Association as well as the additional funds to complete the project.

In other news, large trash day has been schedule for April 17th. Residents of the Village can dispose of large trash in containers that will be placed behind Village Hall. This is for residents only, and a valid Edgerton Utility Bill will be needed to verify residency.

In addition, an Electronic Waste clean-up day is scheduled for April 10th from 8 am to 2 pm behind Village Hall.

The program is hosted by Earth Friendly Recyclers LLC. If you have questions about what is accepted, call Grant or Kelly at 260-624-7850.
