EDGERTON VILLAGE COUNCIL: Council Discusses Townwide Treat Or Treat

Feeling Fall … The Edgerton Village Council discusses the upcoming Halloween festivities.

The Edgerton Village Council met on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 5:30 pm.

Mayor Day began the meeting with The Pledge of Allegiance and prayer. Roll call got underway with Council members Sharon Blinzler, Jason Gruver, Lance Bowsher, Leslie VanAusdale, Pam Wampler, Fiscal Officer Denise Knecht, Village Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles and a few members from the community present. Administrative Assistant Amanda Knecht was absent.

Next up was the approval of the meeting minutes from October 2nd, 2024. Leslie VanAusdale motioned to approve, seconded by Nathan Gruver.


Mayor Day said that currently for the Halloween Trick or Treating 14 houses signed up and six trunks. Day stated many people sign up at the last minute.

To be added to the map there is a QR code to scan on the Chamber of Commerce social media page. On Halloween Day October 31st Trunk or Treat will be held in front of the Town Hall from 5-6 pm, Townwide Treat or Treat October 31st from 5-7:30 pm with costume judging at Town Hall beginning at 7 pm.

Fiscal Officer Denise Knecht passed out the bills and receipts for the council to review. Motion to pay the bills was made by Wallace and seconded by Blinzler.


Next on the agenda is the motion to approve the revenue receipt from the Ohio Department of Development and issue payment for invoice to August Mack for the Edgerton Metals Brownfield Remediation Project. Dawn Fitzcharles requested a motion to approve Fire Department officer reclassification.

For council discussion, Wallace mentioned that some yards and properties need fall debris picked up and that if residents need help to reach out.

Wampler said she received a complaint about a sidewalk on Depot Street in need of repair. Nathan Gruver commended the electric dept workers who were doing work near his residence.


The Village Council meeting adjourned at 5:43 pm. The motion to adjourn was made by VanAusdale and seconded by Bowsher. The next village council meeting is Wednesday. November 6th at 5:30 pm.
