Edna “Susie” Zuver (1937-2019)

Edna L. “Susie” Zuver, 81 years, of West Unity, passed away late Thursday evening, September 5, 2019 in the emergency room of Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon, Ohio. Susie was born November 8, 1937 in Stryker, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carl and Edna (Schneider) Schmitt. 

She was a graduate of West Unity High School. She worked in the Human Resources Department for Scott Port A Fold for 27 years, retiring in 2002. She had also worked as a cashier at K-Mart in Bryan. Susie was a member of Living Hope Free Methodist Church. Susie was a member of the Mothers of Twins Club.  She enjoyed reading, sewing and watching television, especially the Hallmark Channels.

Surviving are her seven children, Debra (Jerry) Nelson of West Unity, Diane (Dave) Barnum of Stryker, Daniel (Lisa) Zuver of West Unity, Dena (Terry) Filip of West Unity, Dawn (Ed) Bakle of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Duane (Cassy) Zuver of Lagrange, Indiana and Denise (Paul Burrows) Zuver of West Unity; daughter-in-law, Cheri Zuver of Archbold; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Judy DeGroff of West Unity and Sharon (Ken) Waggoner of West Unity; four brothers, Bob (Sam) Schmitt of Mercedes, Texas, Jerry (Kathy) Schmitt of Alvordton, Joe (Sue) Schmitt of Syracuse, Indiana and Raymond (Angela) Morris of  West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Raymond Morris, son, David Zuver; daughter-in-law, Jaymie Zuver; two brothers, Richard Schmitt and Teddy Schmitt and one sister, Rosie Schmitt.

Funeral services for Susie were held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Living Hope Free Methodist Church in West Unity with Pastor Jeff Crisenberry officiating. Interment followed in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity.
