EDON BOARD MEETING … Members of the Edon Northwest Local Board of Education met Monday, July 13, in the district library for their regular monthly meeting. The board approved several personnel recommendations, annual agreements, athletic-related items, and other business in preparation for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Edon Northwest Local Board of Education met for its regular meeting on Monday, July 13, with President Cody Best calling the meeting to order promptly at 5:30 p.m. following the Pledge of Allegiance.
Board members Christian Appel, Patty Eicher, Ashley Reed, and David Wehrle were present. Superintendent Anthony Stevens and Treasurer Deborah Nester also attended the meeting.

Following roll call, the board approved the consent agenda, which included the minutes from the June 22 regular meeting, June financial reports, an amended certificate request from the Williams County Auditor, the Certificate of Total Amount From All Sources Available for Expenditures for Fiscal Year 2027, June donations, Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center substitute lists, the district’s list of credentialed evaluators, the annual mentor program agreement with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center, and the annual Williams County Interagency Agreement.
The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Appel and seconded by Eicher.
The board received reports from Treasurer Deborah Nester and Superintendent Anthony Stevens before moving on to new business.
Nester reported that district revenue was up. Stevens shared several facility updates, noting that the phone installation had been completed, the practice fields had been painted, and the gym floors had been refinished.
He also informed the board that the Edon Police Department would be using district facilities for training.
In addition, Stevens said the carpets would be cleaned on July 18 and 19 and advised staff to avoid those areas during that time. He added that he had drafted an email with additional information for staff.
Action items approved by the board included an amended effective resignation date for Kim Limber, EMIS Coordinator/Fiscal Assistant, and the resignation of School Nurse Makenzie Cadwell.
Board members also approved a one-year contract for Cynthia Seaman as school nurse for the 2026-2027 school year, along with an additional 10 contract days for orientation and onboarding.
Additional approvals included a one-year contract for Jason Randall as a substitute/extracurricular bus driver, the 2026-2027 substitute bus and van driver list, student fees, athletic ticket prices and sports passes, the athletic pass resolution, the athletic worker compensation schedule, supplemental coaching contracts, and the Athletic, Coaches’, and Band handbooks for the upcoming school year.

The board also approved shared transportation and shared speech agreements with Edgerton Local School District, state testing proctors for the summer administration at a rate of $30 per hour, and a photography services contract with Elite School and Sports Photography for the 2026-2027 school year.
The motion to approve the reports and action items was made by Reed and seconded by Eicher.
A motion to adjourn was made by Reed and seconded by Eicher, and the meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the Edon Northwest Local Board of Education is scheduled for August 10 at 5:30 p.m.
