(March 31st, 2015) – EDON: The Lady Bombers of Edon suffered a tough loss at the hands of Archbold on the evening of Tuesday, March 31.

The Blue Streaks defeated the Bombers 26-1.

Archbold did most of their scoring early, combining to drive in 23 runs within the first three innings. They began with a 6 run effort in the top of the first. After Edon was unable to answer, the North Western Ohio Athletic League representatives tacked on another 8 runs in the second. Upon giving up another 9 runs in the top of the third, the Lady Bombers scored their lone run to close out the inning.

The remainder of the contest was relatively uneventful. Edon was unable to close the gap between Archbold and themselves. The Lady Blue Streaks added 3 more runs before the conclusion of the fifth inning. The game was then called due to the mercy rule.

Kaitlin Chrisman gave it her all for the Bomber girls, despite the unsatisfactory result. Taking to the mound for Edon for the majority of the game, the senior pitcher took the brunt of the Archbold offensive assault, giving up 18 runs off of 9 hits. She also gave up 3 walks and had a strike out.

With a bit more success at the plate, Chrisman was able to do some damage with her bat. She earned a single and a double against a stellar Blue Streak defense. That allowed her to drive in an RBI as well.

Errors were a major for Edon issue in this game. The Bomber girls committed 9 of them, allowing a strong Archbold squad extra opportunities to score.
