Edon FFA Members Compete At District Public Speaking Contest

On February 16, 2016, three members of the Edon FFA Chapter participated in the District Public Speaking contest held at Liberty Center High School. Competing that day were Aidan Muehlfeld, Emily Fox and Paige Schaffter.

Aidan Muehlfeld represented the chapter in the Creed Speaking division where he recited the FFA Creed and answered questions about the creed’s history; Aidan placed 3rd in the district.

Emily Fox participated in the Beginning Prepared division of the contest where she wrote and delivered a five-to-seven minute speech about farm safety and answered questions about her topic; Emily placed 4th in the district.

Paige Schaffter represented the chapter in the Advanced Prepared division where she wrote and delivered a six-to-eight minute speech about the algal-blooms in Lake Erie. Paige placed 2nd at districts and qualified for the state contest.
