Edon Branch Library is adding a new program to complement home school curriculums. These Homeschooling Extras start on Wednesday, November 28. The Primary Level will meet at 1:00 pm and the Secondary Level will meet at 1:30 pm. Initially, the groups will be meeting weekly, but that may change depending on what works with everyone’s schedules.

The programs will be focusing on a variety of subject areas including different kinds of music and musical instruments and art techniques and mediums such as oil pastels, metal embossing, candle making, origami, decoupage, basket weaving, etc. Participants will also learn about cultures around the world: everyday life, school, traditions, holidays, music, food, and so forth. Another topic covered will be library resources and how to use databases. Reading a story will also be a part of the program.

In addition, the library will offer a teen program but that will probably only meet monthly and be more of a coffee house environment.

Edon Branch Library is located at 105 S. Michigan Street in Edon. For more information about the Homeschooling Extras programs, please call Cyndi Jewell at 419-272-2839.
