Edon Northwest Academic Booster Club Awards 2013 Summer Opportunity Scholarships

The Academic Booster Club at Edon Northwest Local Schools is pleased to announce the recipients of their Summer Opportunity Scholarships for 2013.

ABC Summer Scholarship Awards

  • Kaitlin Chrisman ~ A sophomore at Edon Northwest Local Schools, Kaitlin will receive full sponsorship to attend the upcoming Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Training Seminar. HOBY brings a select group of high school sophomore leaders to interact and discuss present and future issues with groups of distinguished heads of business, government, education and the professions.
  • Colten Lyman ~ Colten, an Edon Northwest Local Schools freshman, will receive one hundred dollars towards his participation in this summer’s 4-H International Exchange Program. He will travel to Japan July 10 through August 8.
  • Alexandra Jacoby ~ A fifth grader at Edon Northwest Local Schools, Alex will receive forty dollars towards attending the Northwest Ohio Honors Academy ~ “iMovies” ~ at Defiance City Schools.
  • Zoe Maier ~ Zoe, a fifth grader at Edon Northwest Local Schools, will receive forty dollars towards attending the Honors Academy ~ “iMovies” ~ sponsored by Northwest Ohio Education Service Center (NWOESC) at Defiance City Schools.

For the past five years, ABC Summer Opportunity Scholarships have been made available to applicants in grades K-12 to assist with program costs to attend additional learning courses over summer break.

ELEMENTARY SUMMER SCHOLARSHIPS … Since 2008, the Academic Booster Club at Edon Northwest Local Schools has awarded Summer Opportunity Scholarships to applicants in grades K-12 attending additional learning programs over summer break. HOBY brings together a select group of high school sophomore leaders to interact and discuss present and future issues with distinguished heads of business, government, education and the professions.  This year’s HOBY experience is sponsored by Edon Northwest Academic Boosters Club.
