(PRESS RELEASE) – Defiance County Prosecutor Morris Murray announced that Manuel D. Canales, age 24, of Evansport, was sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment, with credit for 103 days already served, with parole eligibility after fifteen years on each count, for the offenses of Rape of a child less than ten years of age, each a Felony of the First Degree.
Canales was classified as a Tier III sex offender which established lifetime registration requirements.
According to Murray, from June 1, 2019, through May 31, 2020, at a residence in Defiance County, Canales engaged in sexual conduct with a female juvenile under the age of 10.
