The Evergreen Local Schools Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, November 15th at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.
The board first moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting held on October 18th. The floor was then opened to public comments regarding the districts use of ESSER funds.
The board then moved to approve the September 2021 financial reports including cash reconciliation, financial summary, cash summary, and distribution summary.
Multiple donations were then read and approved followed by approval being given for the following agenda items. A transfer of $3,060.00 to the athletic fund, approval of federal grants IDEA-B for $2,423.69 and Expanding Opportunities for $1,700.11, and approval for the following debt payments.
Payment for refunded series 2001 bond principal and interest of $837,069.53, payment for refunded series 2002 bond principal and interest of $148,152.50, transfer and series 2010 HB264 energy conservation bond principal and interest to $103,886.25 ($95,550.25 due 12/01/21, $8336.00 due 06/1/22. The five-year forecast was then presented and approved followed by the approval of numerous personnel changes and additions.
The board then moved to approve an income tax renewal resolution. The .25% traditional income tax renewal will be placed on the ballot for the May 3rd, 2022 election.
A 60-month lease agreement was also approved with Perry Tech to provide copier/printing services for the district. The resolution overrides policy 6320 that states agreements shall be made in a series of one-year agreements.
The following school board policy revisions were then rescinded. Policy 2370.01 for blended learning, Policy 5336 for the care of students with diabetes, and policy 722 for school sponsored publications and productions.
The board then moved to approve the pay rates for substitutes for the 2021-2022 school year followed by a discussion of the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 district calendar year. An update on the expansion was then heard followed by administrative reports.
The board then moved to adjourn for the evening. The next board meeting will take place on December 20th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
