The Evergreen Board of Education held their meeting on August 19th. The meeting began at 6:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Board members first moved to approve minutes from the meeting held on July 15th, before moving on to approve the following agenda items.
All of the July 2024 Financial Reports as presented, a list of donations made to the school, a grant/modified appropriation/amended resource for McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance in the amount of $11,309.28, and a list of technology items for disposal from Holy Trinity.
A list of personnel items was then approved, along with the following additional items. Authorization was given for the Superintendent to enter into agreements with accredited colleges and universities with Education Preparation Programs for the purpose of allowing the placement of Education Preparation students in the district for the 2024-2025 school year.
Approval was given for the board to support the education option program administered by the Wood County Educational Service Center for the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center, the Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio, and the Wood County Alternative School.
Nora Kiefer was approved to serve as the Evergreen Local Board of Education’s Delegate, along with Rusty Carr as the alternate, to the OSBA Annual Meeting at the OSBA Capital Conference on November 10th, 2024.
Next, an overnight trip for Evergreen FFA students to attend FFA Greenhand Camp in Muskingum, Ohio was approved.
Board members then approved a contract with Toledo Pediatric Speech Therapy, LLC, to provide speech and language services on behalf of Holy Trinity Catholic School students being served under IDEA during the 2024-2025 school year, with expenses to be paid from IDEA-B funds.
Lastly, a contract with Toledo Pediatric Speech Therapy, LLC, to provide speech and language services to Evergreen students being served during LEAP during the 2024-2025 school year.
A thank you was then conveyed by the board to Triple H Farms for their support and donation to the FFA Officers Retreat.
Additionally, a thank you was also conveyed to North Star BlueScope Steel for the Evergreen Middle School GaGa Pit donation in Brody Miller’s memory.
Discussions also took place regarding the Elementary school’s new pickup/drop-off pattern, and Evergreen’s 911 Inform Safety System.
With no other items up for discussion, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held on September 16th at 6:00 p.m.
