STATE CONTEST … In late April, the Evergreen FFA sent four members to Columbus to compete in the Ohio FFA State Meats Judging Contest. This was the first time the team members had competed at the state competition. The team placed 18th in the state and second in District One FFA. The team members included: Molly Elvey, sophomore; Taylor Johnson, senior; Lyla Radel, freshmen and Kirstyn Schroeder, freshmen. At the contest, the team identified cuts of retail and wholesale meats of beef, pork, and lamb. They also completed various meat judging classes along with class questions. This contest was the last contest for the 2024-2025 FFA contest season for the Evergreen FFA. Throughout the academic year, Evergreen FFA has competed in over 20 different contests.
