Fayette Celebrates 48th Annual Bull Thistle Festival

The 48th annual Fayette Bull Thistle Festival was held on Saturday, August 3rd. The festival commenced with a breakfast at Our Lady of Mercy Church from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The parade kicked off at 11:00 a.m., featuring various local organizations and multiple fire departments.


Following the parade, the festival continued at Normal Grove Park, boasting over 50 vendors, food trucks, and a chicken barbecue.

Attendees enjoyed various activities such as softball, sand volleyball, kiddy pedal tractor pulls, live music, a beef raffle, a Chinese raffle, and a kids’ area with bounce houses, face painting, and balloon animals.

The day concluded with a fireworks display at dusk at the Fayette Local School building.



VENDORS … There were numerous local vendors to buy from during the festival.


MUSIC … The live music entertainment from noon to 3 p.m. was performed by Lee Warren.


PLAY BALL … The festival featured some enjoyable softball games that people loved watching.
