The Fayette Fire Department held its annual Feather Party this past weekend on Saturday, November 4th. The event was held at 5:00 p.m. at Fayette High School and featured numerous activities for children and adults.

Door prizes were available for children with dated Christmas Bears being available. An adult door prize consisted of a Tom Turkey, with each of the door prizes being free for participants.

A raffle was also held at the cost of $5 for 6 tickets or $1 per ticket. Some of the items raffled off included movies, popcorn, pre-made baskets, a basket with lottery tickets, and a Roku.

Also held was a 50/50, gun raffle, and two rounds of Bingo. For the gun raffle, a Savage AXIS XP Bolt Action Compact with a scope was given away. Bingo rounds consisted of cards costing $1 per card, with winners receiving 1 of the 30 turkeys or 30 hams available.

FAYETTE FIRE … Members of the Fayette Fire Department, Shane Myers, Tyler Miller, Asst. Chief Matt Welch, Dara Lavinder, were ready to serve during the department’s Feather Party.

Event organizers were Dan Knierim and Nicole Stiriz, with Dan explaining that this year’s event has been long in the planning.

“We are ready for tonight. We started getting everything around since the first of October.” Dan went on to explain that the event normally draws in around 300 people and raises money for the department’s volunteer fireman’s association.
