PIONEER – For a while in the third period, it looked like momentum had completely abandoned the Fayette Lady Eagles against the North Central Lady Eagles on January 4.
Ahh…then the Taylor Griffiths Show took center stage, and the curtain came down on the hometown girls. Griffiths landed 9 of her game-high 18 points in a pivotal 16-8 fourth quarter run that saw Fayette turn a shaky three-point advantage into a 49-38 BBC win.
Alexis Fruchey hoisted 10 points in support of Griffiths, and Kaela Seiler added 8. Mikayla Smith posted 5 points, Ashtyn Baker 4, and Paige Keefer and Allison Cuff each had 2 points for Fayette.
Shaylee Oyer had 11 for North Central, with Bralyn Wyrick getting 10 points and Tiana Wheeler 8. Sabrina Pickford had 4 points, with Hannah Siekemeier splashing a trey and Julia Rhinard adding a deuce.
