September 6th-WEST UNITY: The Lady Cadets of Hilltop successfully defended their home court against Fayette on Saturday, defeating the visiting Eagles in straight sets.
The Lady Eagles challenged Hilltop in the first game, but the Cadets responded by winning the set, 25-19. Game 2 was even more competitive, but the girls of Hilltop were able to withstand the Fayette attack and take the set 25-23. The third set was very similar to the first one, as Hilltop achieved the victory, 25-19.
Ariana Brown had 9 kills, 5 blocks, and an ace in the Cadet victory. Allie Schmitt contributed 11 digs and 6 kills as well. Baylee Schmitt gave Hilltop 11 assists on the evening.
Paige Keefer made 8 kills. 11 digs and a block for Fayette in the losing effort. Hannah Machacek added 17 assists, a kill, and an ace.
