PRESS RELEASE – The Fulton County Genealogy Group is hosting a free genealogy program on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Museum of Fulton County in Wauseon.
“Records, Clerks, and Microfilm, Oh My!” is the first in a series of genealogy programs planned throughout 2026 at the museum. The program will offer an inside look at what goes on behind the doors of local government offices.
Wendy Hardy from the Fulton County Recorder’s Office, Lisa Wendt from the Microfilm Center, and Tracy Zuver, Fulton County Clerk of Courts, will share information about the types of records each department has.
Participants will learn about the time periods covered as well as the format of records available at each office, including paper and electronic options.
From documents pertaining to real estate and information from the Title Division to court records and more, guests may discover a surprise or two about unusual records they didn’t even know existed. Attendees are encouraged to come out and see what they can learn about their ancestors.
While the “Records, Clerks, and Microfilm, Oh My!” program is open to the public, pre-registration is requested. Interested individuals can register at the museum, call 419-337-7922, or send a message to info@museumoffultoncounty.org. To learn more, visit www.museumoffultoncounty.org/upcoming-events.
Additional genealogy events are slated for later this year. On Monday, April 13, 2026, Tristen Dominguez-Turkopp, Program and Events Manager from Heritage Sylvania, will be at the museum for a program about the Underground Railroad in northwest Ohio.
Information about other genealogy programs planned for this year can be found on the events page of the museum website.
