PRESS RELEASE – The month of October is dedicated to celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month. On October 30, 2024 the Fulton County Board of Developmental Disabilities held their 2nd annual Community Employment Banquet.
The evening focused on recognizing the value and talents people with disabilities contribute to our workforce.
Meaningful employment transforms lives, and every worker, including those with disabilities, deserves the opportunity to prepare for, seek, and thrive in jobs within their communities.
Additionally, community employers and providers who play a crucial role in the success of these individuals were also celebrated.
While not everyone could join the festivities, it was a joyous occasion to honor 45 individuals currently employed in community roles.
This group included those in new positions for less than a year, as well as individuals who have been with the same employer for over 20 years, along with others in between.
