The Fulton County Commissioners held their first meeting of the week on Tuesday, February 22nd. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and an opening prayer.
Commissioners first moved to approve minutes from the previous meeting held on February 17th. The current meeting agenda and presented list of bill payments were also approved.
Commissioners then moved to include the following agenda items. An Increase and Transfer of appropriations for various departments.
Approved the oversight of Amendment number 1 to contract 2020-126 with NOCAC on behalf of JFS. Approved submitted purchase orders and travel requests.
Commissioners then went into executive session at 9:05 a.m. to discuss the compensation of an employee. Upon the Commissioners return from executive session at 9:28 a.m.
Commissioner Jon Rupp made a recommendation to allow Vond Hall to enter into negotiations with the grant writer candidate discussed.
Commissioners voted to approve that recommendation before then moving to adjourn at 9:29 a.m.
The Commissioners second meeting of the week took place on Thursday, February 24th. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. and was followed up by the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.
Minutes from the meeting earlier that week on Tuesday were approved first followed by approval for the agenda as presented.
Commissioners first discussed a petition for a new ditch slated as 2145-Busch. Commissioners discussed the ditch and moved to set a date of viewing followed by a hearing date.
The hearing date for the petition of ditch 2145-Busch is set for May 3rd at 9:30 a.m. The following agenda items were then approved by Commissioners.
An increase and transfer of appropriations for various departments. The accepting of the 2022 NEWS Advisory Board rate recommendations.
Approval for the PY21 CDBG grant agreement 2022-29 with the Ohio Department of Development for Nova Steel. Approval for submitted purchase orders and travel requests.
The meeting then went into recess at 9:09 a.m. to prepare for a presentation from the Historical Society.
Recess concluded at 9:17 a.m. with the Fulton County Museum Director John Swearingen giving a presentation to Commissioners.
Mr. Swearingen explained that they were only present to speak about the historical society in order to help promote what they do.
Swearingen gave examples such as the numerous programs put on every year by the society, as well as the artifact collection and archive retention.
He also explained that the Fulton County Museum has become a leader in Northwest Ohio and that the society as a whole continues their work to bring visitors into Fulton County to share culture and heritage both past and present.
Additions such as online archives and artifact information were also discussed with it being stated that the museum is moving forward. Events are continuing to increase post pandemic now and the hope is to bring more people in.
Following the conclusion of Mr. Swearingen’s presentation to Commissioners, the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
