Following a short recess, the Commissioners welcomed County Public Utilities Director, Lincoln Frey, to give an update on his department. There was a new employee beginning that morning.
During a previous discussion it was determined that the Elmira/Burlington pumps need to be replaces. Frey said he has spoken with Dennis Miller of Maumee Valley Planning Organization (MVPO) for possible funding but Miller said there is nothing available for that project.
Commissioner Jon Rupp asked about the total cost for replacement and Frey said it is in the $55,000 range.
In October the Commissioners approved to have the Delta connection made and that has been submitted to Toledo Regional Water Commission for their approval.
The department has a permit for the Industrial Sewer and he has spoken with the Health Department to see if there is an interest in a treatment plan.
Commissioner Jon Rupp informed Frey that a study was done a few years ago by Jones and Henry so he should check into seeing that. He also encouraged Frey to “keep the permit up for now because things are always changing.”
After thanking Frey for the update, the commissioners adjourned for that meeting.
