FULTON COUNTY GRAND JURY: Ten Indictments Handed Down Including Swanton Man For Attempted Murder

(PRESS RELEASE) On June 13, 2022, the Fulton County Grand Jury considered indictments charging individuals with Fulton County crimes, according to the Fulton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, including a Swanton man on three counts of Attempted Murder.

GUY M. HOLMES, age 64, was indicted on two counts of Aggravated Arson, and three counts of Attempted Murder. On or about May 20, 2022, he allegedly by means of fire or explosion, knowingly cause physical harm to an occupied structure in Swanton. He also allegedly engaged in conduct that, if successful, would have resulted in the deaths of three people. 22CR60.

Other individuals indicted were:

WESLEY J. LEWIS, age 19, of Waldron, MI, was indicted on one count of Unlawful Sexual Conduct. With a Minor. On or about May 23, 2022, he allegedly, being age 18 or older, engaged in sexual conduct with another person older than age 13 but less than age 16. 22CR59.


CODY BAXTER, age 32, of Hudson, MI, was indicted on one count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs and one count of Escape. On or about November 29, 2021, he allegedly possessed methamphetamine and allegedly fled from a police officer while under detention for committing a felony. 22CR62.

TODD M. KEEFER, age 47, of Fayette, OH, was indicted on one count of Failure to Appear on Personal Recognizance Bond. On or about June 1, 2022, he allegedly failed to appear for his hearing scheduled for June 1, 2022 in the Fulton County Court of Common Pleas, as required by the terms of his personal recognizance bond. 22CR64.

TRISTEN L. REYNOLDS, age 30, of Archbold, OH, was indicted on one count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs. On or about December 9, 2021, he allegedly possessed methamphetamine. 22CR63.


EDWIN J. LOPEZ, age 43, of Toledo, OH, was indicted on one count of Falsification to Obtain a Concealed Handgun License. On or about May 26, 2022, he allegedly made a false statement in an application filed with the county sheriff in order to obtain a concealed handgun license. 22CR66.

RACHEL J. BARTON, age 54, of Fayette, OH, was indicted on one count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs. On or about April 30, 2022, she allegedly possessed methamphetamine. 22CR61.

JACOB M. GARDNER, age 42, of Toledo, OH, was indicted on one count of Failure to Comply With Order or Signal of a Police Officer. On or about June 3, 2022, he allegedly failed to comply with an order or signal from a police officer to bring his motor vehicle to a stop. 22CR68.

ROGER E. CARTER, age 46, of Swanton, OH, was indicted on one count of Domestic Violence. On or about March 11, 2022, he allegedly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a family or household member. 22CR65.


ALEJANDRO A. GUZMAN, age 28, of Archbold, OH, was indicted on one count of Domestic Violence. On or about June 8, 2022, he allegedly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a pregnant family or household member. 22CR67.

It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation, and that all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
