The Fulton County Historical Society held their annual Haunting History Tour this past weekend. On Friday October 25th and Saturday, October 26th, the Haunting History tours began at the Depot in Wauseon.

Tours began just before 6:30 p.m. with guides walking participants through downtown Wauseon.

The hour-long tour makes five stops before returning to the Depot for its final experience.

Several time slots are available each night, with tours leaving every 15 minutes until 8:30 p.m. The walks are filled with several pieces of history, hauntings and stories of the paranormal past.

Some of the historical figures that were portrayed by actors during the event this year included Epaphras Lord Barber, John E Sater, and Sara Oldfield.

“Our expert guides will be sharing historically accurate information along with legends that we have been told by word of mouth,” said Historical Society Director Jon Swearingen.

“It often seems that truth is stranger than fiction and these true stories can often be unexplained, funny, weird, or even seem ‘haunting’.”

This event has been going on for over 15 years now and has taken place in several communities throughout Fulton County.

This is the first time in five years since the event was held in Wauseon, due to it being held in other areas. Plans are already being made for next year’s event.
