The Fulton County Special Olympics held a fundraiser at the Delta Eagles on Saturday, October 8th. The event began at 5:00 p.m. and lasted until approximately 9:00 p.m. The fundraiser brought people together for a night of fun, raffles, music, games, and food.
This year’s fundraiser is the seventh annual year for the event, which pulls all profits together to benefit the Special Olympic athletes in the Fulton County area.
This includes providing assistance to the new young athletes’ program. With the community’s help. The Special Olympics is able to give individuals an excellent opportunity to succeed and experience some great life experiences.
Individuals from the community came to the event and paid $8.00 for a meal which was made by the local Delta Eagles Post.

Multiple activities were also available for visitors to do including a 50/50 raffle, Chinese Auction, Silent Auction, and fellowship.
Event Coordinator Celia Wilson explained what money earned does to support the organization, and what it means to them in regard to the support they receive.
“The fundraiser helps with a lot of different things in the program. From fees to uniforms, the homecoming, awards banquet, and more. Some of our athletes also go down to the OSU campus at the end of June.”
“There they get to participate in many activities such as track and volleyball during the weekend. They also get to experience staying in dorms and overnight stays.”
“This though has been all super exciting. The Delta Eagles are great supporters of us, and we couldn’t do a lot that we do without them.”
The night was a great success with the building being packed full of people who came out to have some good food, good fun, and to give their support towards a good cause.
