The Panthers moved to 6-2 on the season and captured their first league contest over Patrick Henry. The game was interrupted Monday by thunderstorms. Travis Dunning was credited with the win and Gabe Freeman was two for two at the plate for Delta.
Bryan 8, Delta 1
The Golden Bears scored a run in each of the first five innings then added three in the sixth for the win. Christian Pool allowed Delta just one hit during the game while striking out eight. Gabe Freeman took the loss going four innings allowing four runs on nine hits. Bleus Creek led Bryan at the plate finishing three for four with two RBI.
Pettisville 10, North Central 0
It was an eight run third inning that put the game away for the Blackbirds (2-3, 1-2). Christian Stevens and Dillon King contributed offensively with two RBI apiece. Logan Rufenacht and Preston Stevens drove in a run each and Austin Horning singled. Horning pitched the complete game for Pettisville giving up three hits but no runs while striking out five. Eagles pitching only allowed the Blackbirds four hit, but it was the seven errors that caused the defeat. Colton Schmunk pitched 3.2 innings giving up four runs on two hits with one strikeout. Josh Bailey went 2.1 innings giving up six runs on two hits with two strikeouts. Steven Wiliams and David Pinc led the Eagles hitters finishing one for three on with a pair of doubles.
Stryker 5, Montpelier 2
The Panthers used three runs in the bottom of the sixth as they went on to the BBC win. Colton Benson had a good outing on the mound for the Panthers as he pitched 6.2 innings and had 10 strikeouts. Austin Frisbie led the Panthers at the plate with two hits but it was Benson’s three RBI and a home run that propelled the Panthers. Dakota Barker and Koldon Uribes had two apiece for the Locos. Dakota Benner, pitching six innings, took the loss for Montpelier.
Hilltop 5, Edon 2
After five innings, the game was knotted 2-2. Hilltop (5-3, 1-1) scored three unanswered runs in the top half of the sixth to come away with their fifth win of the spring. Ryan Brooker’s single drove in two runs to lead the Cadets. Ben Routhier added one RBI for Hilltop also. Kohl Collins pitched the complete game allowing two runs on four hits while striking out two. Preston Klingler, Austin Kiess, Darylze Bass and Aiden Muehlfeld each connected for one hit apiece for the Bombers (1-4, 1-1). Bass went the distance for Edon allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out seven.
