Grace E. Slusher, age 80, of West Unity, Ohio, passed away at 2:14 P.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold, Ohio. Grace retired from Kamco Industries with over 20 years of service. She enjoyed spending time at home gardening, canning, cooking, and reading.
Grace was born on April 22, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Fred and Lena (Bryant) Finnegan. She married Ben G. Slusher, Jr. on August 26, 1960, in Jonesville, Michigan, and he survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Linda (Dan ) Beck, of West Unity, and Connie (Tim) Apple, of Bryan, Ohio; six grandchildren, Megan (Ryan) Carpenter, of Kunkle, Ohio, Nikki (Mike) Sammons, of Bryan, Tiffany Finch, of Jackson, Michigan, Staci Apple, of Bryan, Corey (Marcella Cherry) Apple, of Ney, Ohio, and Trevor (Talissa) Apple, of Bryan; thirteen great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sister, Bernice Moulton, of Jonesville, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas Finnegan; and grandson-in-law, Rob Finch.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Solid Rock Community Church (West Entrance), 102 Egly Drive, West Unity, Ohio. Services will follow at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Randy Evers officiating.
Due to the ongoing pandemic restrictions, the family will receive friends while observing social distancing precautions. The family requests visitors use masks in accordance with state mandates. Anyone showing any symptoms of illness is asked to please share condolences by a phone call, email, text message, or leaving a condolence at the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
