Wauseon 12 Stryker 1 (5 innings)

WAUSEON – The Indians scored in every inning including a five spot in the fourth to put the game away as they opened the season by defeating Stryker 12-1.

Ella Albright, Ava Kovar, and Ella Hageman each collected three hits on the night with Hageman getting the win in circle after allowing just one hit and recording 10 strikeouts.

Adysen Andres provided the offense for the Panthers with an RBI single in the fourth.

ANTWERP – A three-run third inning gave the Archers the lead before they added six more in the fifth frame to outlast Edon in the season opener for both squads.

Meghan Derck batted in three runs for the Bombers and Natalie Wofford doubled twice.

SWANTON – Swanton took advantage of eight fielding errors by Montpelier and 11 walks issued by Locos’ pitching to get first-year coach Lauren Yoder the win in her debut with the Bulldogs.

Swanton needed just eight hits to tally their 16 runs, led by Alexa Faber with three singles and she scored five runs.

Jada Uribes singled four times for Montpelier and Madelyn Hopper knocked in two runs.

OTTAWA – Bryan scored one in the seventh inning to force extras and Carter Dominique drew a bases loaded walk to force in the game-winner for the Golden Bears.

Cole Uran tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the seventh for Bryan, who got a 12 strikeout performance on the mound by Dylan Dominique.
