BLAZESThe Hilltop cheerleaders sparked enthusiasm and boosted team spirit for the final home game of the football season.

Thursday night, the cheerleaders had a huge bonfire in honor of “senior night” at Hilltop School in West Unity. Senior night is always the last home game of the season, so the cheerleaders held a rally to motivate the team for Friday night’s game against on the Northwood Rangers.

Plenty of students, and some adults, gathered around the blaze to support the football team and gain words of wisdom from this year’s graduating seniors and their football coaches.

Coach Kyser, head football coach, gave words of encouragement to improve morale and was met with a big round of applause from the students and adults. Kyser will retire this year.

When asked what made the cheerleaders decide to do this, the cheerleading coach Mackenzie Blue said that it was cheerleader Autumn Jermeay’s idea. She wanted to give the team some extra fight and drive.

Go Hilltop Cadets! Keep your fires burning!
