Hilltop Cadets Overpower Toledo Rodgers On The Road In Out Of Conference Play

TOLEDO: April 1, 2014: – The Hilltop Cadets hit the road on April 1, taking on Toledo Rodgers in non-conference action. The Cadets outgunned Rodgers 19-7 with Chad Champion, Justin Grapengeter, and Justin Ashenfelter each posting a three RBI performance.

On the mound for the Cadets, Logan Brooker recorded the win, pitching 3 2/3 innings, recording 7 strikouts while giving up 6 hits and allowing 7 runs. Chad Champion cleaned up, coming in and closing out the game, recoding 3 strikeouts while allowing 1 hit.

Zach Roehrs, Champion, Grapengeter and Ashenfelter each recorded 2 hits, while Miklo Abner blasted on over the fence for Hilltop. Also contributing for the Cadets, Quinn Smith scored 3, while recording a stolen base; Champion scored 4 along with 3 stolen bases while teammate Grapengeter crossed home plate 3 times while logging 2 stolen bases. Issac VanArsdalen also had an RBI off of 1 hit for Hilltop.
