Hilltop Lady Cadets Go To The Wall To Defeat Liberty Center In Five Sets

WEST UNITY – The Hilltop Lady Cadets welcomed in the Lady Tigers of Liberty Center for a September 3 brawl in The Bunker…and a brawl it was.

After dropping the first set, the Lady Cadets rallied to take the next two. The Tigers were not ready to call it a day though, and won the fourth set to force a tie breaker fifth set. There the line was drawn, and the hometown girls prevailed to finally take the match, 21-25, 25-21, 25-14, 19-25 and 15-8.

Sydney Schmitt collected 17 digs, a kill and 40 assists for Hilltop, while Brittney Mocherman had 4 aces, 7 digs, 4 blocks and 13 kills. Emily Armbruster posted an ace, 13 digs and 13 kills, and Kayla Settlemire had a trio of aces, 17 digs, an assist and 9 kills. LeAnn Joost had 2 digs, 2 kills and a pair of blocks, Cierra Grant posted an ace, 17 digs, 2 assists, 3 kills and a block, and Kailey Creamer had 22 digs and 2 aces.
