EDON: January 18, 2014 – Records can say a lot…and sometimes they say a lot of wrong. Just because they have won only once this season does not mean that the Montpelier Locomotives are pushovers. The Edon Bombers found out first hand on January 18.

Edon opened with an early lead, and expanded the advantage slowly as the game progressed. For three quarters though, the Boys in Bomber Blue were unable to get the large Locomotive image out of their rearview mirror…until the fourth period. In the final frame, the hometown boys went off on a 19-6 run to finally dispatch their upset-minded visitors, giving the denizens of The Hangar a happy ride home after a 57-41 win.

Jake Brown led all scorers with 23 points for the Bombers, with Brock Thiel adding 11 points and Kaden Sapp 10. Mike Peeples landed 6 points, Wyatt Walkowski posted 4 points, and River Wicker had 3.

Parker Houk fired off 13 points to lead Montpelier, with Nate McCord getting 10, and Jared Shoup and Dalton Surbey each adding 6 points. Cody Caudill had 3 points, Dylan Snyder 2, and Alex Matzinger a free throw.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Edon 15 14 9 19 – 57

Montpelier 14 10 11 6 – 41
