After erosion has hammered the section of Clear Fork Creek that runs through Crommer Park (between Third Street and Elm Street) over the years, 1,800 tons of rip rap has just finished being installed on the north and south embankments to help remedy the issues caused by this.
Village of Pioneer Administrative Assistant Gina Gruber shared that the erosion made the trees nearest the creek unstable, and therefore unsafe, as well as reduced usable space in Crommer Park.
The Village of Pioneer applied for and received a $51,000 grant through the CDBG Allocation Funds.
Using this grant, the village partnered with John Fry Contracting to see this project through to completion.
