The First Annual Wazapalooza End Of Summer Event, held in downtown Wauseon from September 15th to 17th, was a three-day extravaganza that brought the community together for a send-off to the summer season.

Sponsored by Black Swamp Boots located at 201 N. Fulton St., the event promised and delivered on a weekend filled with music, contests, and delicious food offerings.

Friday evening began with a bang as the versatile Urban/Country artist, F1 of FMG took the stage.

Keeping the party energy going, Alternative Rock band from Toledo, The Suicide Doors, followed with an electrifying performance.

On Saturday, F1 of FMG once again kicked off the live tunes, followed by Nightbird Band, known for their Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks tributes.

For those guests who wanted their own time to shine on the stage, Saturday and Sunday featured a karaoke contest hosted by Jeff Lamb of The Man Cave. All ages were encouraged to participate, ensuring fun for the whole family.

Sunday’s festivities brought a jalapeño eating contest at 5:00 p.m., followed by a Grito Contest.  The evening concluded with music performances from La Traizion and La Corporacion.

Throughout the weekend, local food vendors were on hand to provide a variety of food choices. Tocayo’s Toledo food truck featured authentic street tacos and Pancho’s Taco Grill brought with them selections such as tostadas, burritos, and nachos.

Madeline’s Smokehouse provided delicious BBQ options including their “One of a kind” Eastern North Carolina pulled pork. Rounding out the food and drink vendor lineup was The Squeeze – Fresh Squeezed Lemonade.

Throughout the weekend, guests had the opportunity to test their luck by purchasing raffle tickets to win a cowboy hat or boots from local sponsor Black Swamp Boots.

With the beautiful late summer weather and the air filled with music, the 1st Annual Wazapalooza End Of Summer Event was a terrific way to bid a fond farewell to Summer 2023.
