Indians Bowlers Fall In Close Matchup With Defiance

DEFIANCE 1/30/2014—In a matchup pitting the 10-2 Indians against the 9-2 Defiance Bulldogs, Wauseon was defeated by only a slim 2524-2463 margin.

Defiance would pull ahead of the Indians in the first game of the contest, 1041-993. For the Tribe in the first game, Clayton Ricker rolled a 206, Kevin Moden scored 205, Nic Kearney had a 200, Noah Stickley bowled a 192, and Peyton Shadbolt scored a 190.

The Indians would cut in to the Bulldog lead in the second game, as the Tribe won the second game by a score of 943-902. Ricker lead the way in the second game for the Tribe with a 236, Moden bowled a 184, Kearney had 181, Stickley rolled a 180, and Shadbolt finished with a 162. After the first two games, the Indians only trailed by 7 pins, 1943-1936.

In the first round of Baker games, the Indians would be outscored 212-204, making it 2,155-2,140 in favor of the Bulldogs.

The Indians would win the second Baker game 184-154, overtaking the lead 2,324-2,309,


It would all come down to the final Baker game of the night, but the Tribe would be unable to seal the deal, as they were outscored 215-139 in the final game, allowing Defiance to come away with a 2,524-2,463 victory.
