Foster parenting can be challenging, but there can be a lot of fun and memorable times combined with it!  Inner Peace Homes, Inc. hosted a teambuilding event for families on September 17 at Camp Palmer.

This event was a great opportunity for foster children and families to learn crucial skills which included trust and communication building along with problem solving.

With all these skills they were able to learn what it means to work together.

There are more than 16,000 foster children in Ohio and more foster parents are needed with the increasing numbers.

Kids come from different walks of life and bring their own characteristics and interests with them.

As every child comes from a different place with their own unique story, having a variety of homes to select from to help meet them where they are at is important.

If we want to keep our own within our communities, then now is the time to step up.

Kids are not only enduring difficult times in their childhood, but they are also being displaced into communities that are unfamiliar to them.

Individuals that become foster parents are embraced with support.  nner Peace Homes not only assists with supporting the child placed in the home, but they are also there for the foster family.

Support is provided through caseworker visits, direction for different services/resources, mentoring, daily per diem paid, medical insurance for the child, 24/7 agency contact and more.

Ongoing training opportunities, a foster parent support group and a variety of fun activities for the family are also provided.

If you want to learn more about how you can keep children in your community or about Inner Peace Homes foster care agency, virtual information meetings take place on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM with the next one coming up on November 3.

Contact info@innerpeacehomes.org or 419-354-6525 to get registered or for more information.

The need is great.  Help Inner Peace Homes put peace back into a child’s life!
