James W. Allion Jr, age 59, of Wauseon, surrounded by his loving family; passed away at his home Saturday, May 28, 2016 after a courageous nine year battle with cancer. He was born in Toledo, OH on June 20, 1956 to the late James W. Allion Sr. and Dorothy (Lane) Ray. Jim was a 1974 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School. On January 1, 1977 in Greenville, OH, he was united in marriage to Becky Huntington, who survives.
Jim was an electrical engineer with North Star Blue Scope Steel for 19 years. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and friend. Some of his favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, driving classic cars and participating in car shows with his good friend Tom. Jim enjoyed coaching Evan’s baseball teams from little league on through high school.
Jim will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Becky Allion; step-mother, France Allion; daughter, Katy (Dan) Johnson; son, Evan (Ashley) Allion; sisters, Karen (Jon) Markey and Deborah Allion; brother, Roy Chasteen; grandchildren, Graham, Gretchen, Wesley, Charles and Edward.
Friends will be received from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta; with a memorial service honoring Jim’s life beginning at 5:00 PM. Pastor Teresa Wenrick will be officiating. Private interment will be at Whitehouse Cemetery in Whitehouse, OH at a later date.
