Jefferson Township Trustees met in a regular session on Monday, May 18 with trustees Austin Poynter, Brian Batterson, and Scott Oberlin all present. Fiscal officer Linda Beck was also in attendance.

The minutes from the May 4, 2026, meeting were read and approved. Poynter stated that the area on County Road M and County Road 16 is draining better. The township is waiting on quotes to repair the area properly, and further action was tabled.

According to Poynter, another area of drainage concern has improved. Property owner Jim Weber has completed work on his tiles on County Road M, and the area now appears to drain properly.

Poynter also noted that the concrete work on County Road M at State Route 15 has been completed.

Conrad Beck and Steven Jerzkowski were present to review the Ohio Plan Insurance Policy for the year.

The proposed annual premium plan for the township would be $9,911.00. Trustees raised the personal property coverage for the maintenance building from $29,741.00 to $70,000.00. The liability coverage will be from $3 million to $4 million.

The agents will revise those coverages, and the invoice, when received, will reflect those changes.

Beck updated the trustees regarding cemetery transfer permits for Lot 117 C, graves 5 and 6, in the Seventh Addition. Oberlin made the motion to approve the cemetery transfer permits with Batterson seconding it. It was approved by a 3-0 vote.

Oberlin made a motion to approve the April bank statement with a balance of $1,249,796.96 and seconded by Batterson and approved by a 3-0 vote.

Batterson made a motion to approve the township fund status in the amount of $1,221,385.79 and seconded by Poynter and approved by a 3-0 vote.

The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m. Next meeting is Monday, June 1 at 7 p.m. in the Jefferson Township building.
