Leonard “Lenny” D. Makula, age 76 of Delta, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2017. He was born on July 4, 1940 in Wauseon to the late Ruby (Balser) and Marion “Johnny” Makula. He was a graduate of Delta High School. Lenny retired from Bunting Bearings where he worked as a supervisor for many years. He was a longtime member of the Delta Eagles.
Lenny will be remembered for having the cleanest cars in Delta; while being a lover of muscle cars. He enjoyed going to car shows and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his eight children, Terry (Deb) Makula, Deb Stoll, Margie Badenhop, John (Deb) Makula, Cindy (Jared) Banister, Kim Gorsuch, Christine (Bruce) Michael, Kevin (Wendy) Hardy and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Marion Makula; one sister, Kathy Cunningham and special loving companion of over 17 years, Sharon Mathers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana (Bryan) Makula and son, David Hardy.
Friends and family will be received from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta with an Eagles service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 20, 2017 also at the funeral home. Pastor Tyler Quillet will be officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
