Lewis A. Stantz, 77 of Montpelier died Saturday night at his home. He was born on April 21, 1935 in Kunkle to Neri and Hazel (Severence) Stantz. He was a Kunkle High School graduate. On June 11, 1964 he married Doris M Thompson in Montpelier and she survives. Lewis had been a truck driver for most of his life. He was a member of Kunkle United Brethren Church.
Besides his wife, Lewis is survived by four sons James (Kathy) Stantz of Mansfield Ohio, Timothy (Kris) Stantz of Mansfield Ohio, Arthur R. Stantz of Montpelier, Lewis A. Stantz of Hartford Michigan, three daughters Tina J. Ridenour of Bryan, Kitty L. Drinnon of Bryan, Carol “Susie” Stantz and Trent Watts of Montpelier, two brothers Leroy (Charlotte) Stantz of Kunkle, Herbert “Butch” (Linda) Stantz of Bryan, fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Arthur Stantz and one sister Mabel Hutchinson.
Visitation hours for Lewis will be Tuesday November 20th from 4-6 pm at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home in Montpelier. A memorial service will follow at 6pm with Pastor Homer Miller officiating.
