Lisa Gayle (McKarns) Weisz, 61, of Montpelier, Ohio, passed in her home surrounded by her family Thursday, March 22, 2018 following her battle with cancer. She was born January 10, 1957 in Montpelier, the daughter of Harold D. and Wanda L. (Faber) McKarns.
Lisa was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier, Ohio. She graduated from Montpelier High School with the class of 1975. On October 2, 1976 Lisa was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Dusty L. Weisz in Montpelier.
For nearly 20 years Lisa was employed at Kustom Fit in Pioneer, Ohio. She then began working for Hause Machines in Montpelier, Ohio. At the time of her passing Lisa was a dedicated employee, of 9 years, at the L.E. Smith Co. in Bryan, Ohio. In her spare time Lisa enjoyed reading, assisting with the Williams County Relay for Life team, Counting Our Blessings and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by husband of 42 years, Dusty L. Weisz of Montpelier, Ohio; two sons, Cody M. Weisz of Montpelier, Ohio and Austin J. (Katelyn) Weisz of West Unity, Ohio; three grandchildren Gracelynn Nicole, Lillyann and Parker James West Unity, Ohio; her mother Wanda L. McKarns of Bryan, Ohio; and one sister Deb (John) Greene of Chester, Vermont. She was preceded in death by her father Harold D. McKarns in 2004.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 from 3-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier, Ohio. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Frank Kampel to officiate. Interment will follow at Shiffler Cemetery in rural Bryan. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Lisa’s honor to the family to assist with medical and funeral expenses.
