With the goal to share his “God given talents” that he was blessed with, Carl Yarger has always worked hard to live up to the task.

Most famous for his caricatures, the artist was born between Edgerton and Bryan, and began his first stint as a professional artist designing toys for Ohio Art Company after attending Dayton Art Institute.

He would then move on to design many things professionally, ranging from graphic design, ads, and printing.

Each position taught him something new, and his wife Cherie, two kids, and now seven grandkids have been a huge part of the ride.

In 2006, the artist turned to financial planning fulltime to better provide for his family, sharing that “they don’t call them “starving artists” for nothing.”

EDGERTON WATER TOWERS … Carl designed the newest designs for the Edgerton water towers and did so free of charge -just like the wonderful mural designed by him as well.

Today, the artist spends his time as the co-owner of YFI, a financial planning group, and producing art for his friends, family, and community.

Most recently, Edgerton has seen their water towers designed by Yarger, which is in addition to his designing of the Edgerton mural.

Right now, Yarger does his work from his studio in his office and is taking his time on a piece mimicking his wife’s likeness.

Cherie also has an appreciation for the arts, and is a bird photographer, using her talents to do various things, like the calendars for Joyful Bird Ministries.

The Yargers have stayed close to Edgerton, investing with their business, and live just five minutes away outside of Butler, Indiana.

NEAR AND DEAR … Everything most dear to local artist Carl Yarger’s heart are all pictured in this one photo with the inclusion of one of his favorite art pieces and his wife, Cherie. The piece represents God, America, and Ohio.
