What would a new home be without a beautiful yard to go with it? Four local vendors and a group of hardworking volunteers helped provide such a yard for our latest Habitat family. Grass seed was discounted in the spring by Rupp Seed of Delta. In June, Schmidlin Greenhouse of Delta donated a large variety of plants including butterfly bushes, mums and other assorted annuals and perennials. Plants Plus Nursery of Archbold offered a beautiful ornamental pear tree for the front yard and Delta’s Lammon Brothers provided 3 yards of treated mulch to finish up the project. Workers from the family’s church, Swan Creek Community Church and a handful of Habitat board and committee members spent some time last Thursday, September 19th putting it all together at the Roberto DeSantos’ home, 11 Glacier Lane, Delta.
Roberto and his 5 children are the latest Fulton County Habitat homeowners. The home was built last fall but the landscaping, grass, driveway and sidewalks were finished this summer when the weather allowed. Mr. DeSantos is the 18th local homeowner to partner with Habitat for Humanity in Fulton County.
