Andrew James Altman, 80, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
He was born on June 15, 1944, in West Unity, OH, to the late Lewis and Elizabeth (Jones) Altman.
Andy was a graduate of Hilltop High School in West Unity, OH, attended Miami of Ohio University and graduated from Tri-State College, Angola, IN.
He served overseas in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. Having worked in the egg industry his entire life, Andy was a well respected egg broker throughout the Midwest and Southeastern US.
He ran the family business, A & A Poultry Farms of West Unity, OH, and most recently worked for Dutt & Wagner, of Abingdon, VA. Andy was an avid golfer and in his lifetime carded five holes-in-one.
Andy married Barbara Suter on December 13, 1968, and they just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
Andy is survived by his wife Babs, their three children; Joseph R. Altman (Lynne), Lewis Daniel Altman and Mary Elizabeth Altman, and his two sisters; Ann Hollingshead and Sandra Munchel. Preceding him in death was his brother Anthony Altman.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date at the Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, OH.
