September 4th-ARCHBOLD: With a valiant effort the Lady Locos of Montpelier attempted to steal a win on the road against the Archbold Blue Streaks. The girls of Archbold had no intention of losing on their home court, however, and fended off Montpelier in a four set battle.
During the first set, Montpelier fought hard but couldn’t pull out the win, falling 17-25. The second game was a tough, tight match. The Locomotives were able to pull out the victory, thought, with a score of 25-22. Game 3 saw the Lady Blue Streaks pull away, as Montpelier dropped the set 10-25. Trying to mount a comeback, The Lady Locos pushed hard in game 4, attempting to force a fifth set. Yet it wasn’t to be, and Archbold handed Montpelier a loss, 18-25.
Christy Duchene recorded 20 digs and an ace on Montpelier’s behalf. Teammate Landri McKelvey set things up for the Locos with 17 assists, as well as 6 digs. Hannah Blake had 7 kills, 7 digs, and 4 assists in the loss.
