Members of the Lyons Village Council held their meeting on Monday, December 2nd. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by discussions of the following items.

The village is currently waiting to hear back from the EPA on potential water tower funding. The hope is that the village will be approved for funding, through grants, for the project.

Updates were given regarding North Adrian Street properties. A new engineering firm for the water/sewer layout was obtained and will get started right away.

The every other year audit by the State of Ohio should be completed by the end of the year and updates to the zoning code should be complete for approval in January.

EPA metrics reports were completed and insurance for 2025 was decided. Council voted to approve the insurance premiums for the coming year.

The tree lighting, held on December 1st went well, with around eighty people or more, from town attending the event. The Lyons Christmas parade will be held on Saturday, December 14th.

The new Fatens Lyons Den restaurant is now open, and a ribbon cutting will be held on Wednesday, December 11th at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate.

Council then moved to approve an agreement with the EMA for 2025, as well as a regional planning assessment as submitted.

DGL Consulting was hired to complete a new survey at Dunbar Ingal Park to combine multiple parcels and money was discussed for the replacing of meters and pits as needed.

With no other items needing council’s attention, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held on January 6th at 7:00 p.m.
