The Lyons Village Council met on Monday, November 4th. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Council then approved the minutes from the previous meeting and the bills.
THM testing begins next week, the village is still waiting on Toledo Edison to put the meter in at the park for the tree lighting, but sign pickup for the trees went well.
Council then entered executive session at 7:02 p.m. Upon returning from the executive session at 7:07 p.m., council motioned and approved personnel raises.
Under old business, the weigh station has been completely removed, and the ground has been leveled and properly maintained.
There is currently no specific funding amount approved for the water tower. The village is in the process of undergoing its audit. The EPA service line has been submitted, and the village had 21 non-compliance letters. Additionally, the village approved a $50 donation to the fire department for their annual feather party.
Council approved a second vote on the 75/25 insurance percentage, with a third vote planned as they finalize more details regarding the insurance.
Finally, council reviewed and discussed potential zoning items. Some of these items included the prohibition of chain-link fences in front yards, guidelines for placing items near property lines, regulations regarding the idling of semi-trucks, requirements for permits when adding extra square footage to homes or properties, and considerations for temporary housing.
Council plans to revisit the zoning items at a later date to ensure that no additional changes are necessary before approving the zoning book.
With nothing further to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
