Magdalene Grieser, age 97 years, of Archbold, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 29, 2018, at Heartland of Wauseon. She was born April 28, 1921, at Wauseon, the daughter of Philip and Elizabeth (Frank) Detter. She married Royal Grieser on July 7, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1954. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a homemaker and worked at the former Wire Factory and retired from Perfection Finishers both in Wauseon. She enjoyed drawing, gardening and especially flowers. She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Wauseon.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Karen Grieser of Archbold; a son-in-law, Larry Gault Sr. of Wauseon; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Orville (Margaret) Detter of Wauseon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Larry and Roger; a daughter, Nancy Gault; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Willis and Waldo Detter; and a sister, Betty Cheney.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at Short Funeral Home in Archbold with Rev. Steven R. Geske officiating. Interment will follow in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-7 PM on Monday. The family suggests that memorials be given to Emmaus Lutheran Church.
