Margaret Jane Gansmiller, age 96, of Stryker, Ohio passed away Sunday morning, September 02, 2018 in Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 2012.
She was born March 20, 1922 in Stryker, Ohio to Winifred Wakefield and Wayne Bircaw. She married Raymond A. Gansmiller on August 06, 1944 and he preceded her in death on August 30, 1974. She was a graduate of Stryker High School in 1940. She was a homemaker and volunteered for Stryker Blood Mobile, 4-H Leader and as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
After the death of her husband, she worked for Dr. Sterling King for 18 years retiring in May 1990. Margaret was a member of the Stryker United Brethren Church and was active in many events with the church.
Surviving are two children, Gary (Sandy) Gansmiller, of Archbold, Ohio. Cathy (Dan) Salisbury, of Edgerton, Ohio. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren. Scott (Jeanette) Bowers, Paula (Ken) Rohrs, Karen (Paul) Bowers, Laura Gansmiller, Gary Ray Gansmiller, Vicki Robinson, and David (Shanon) Gansmiller. 22 great-grandchildren. 14 Great-Great grandchildren.
Margaret is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, husband, sister, Joan, and a brother, Duane.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 07, 2018 in Stryker United Brethren Church, Stryker, Ohio. Pastor Nick Woodall will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Stryker, Ohio. Friends may call for a time of visitation with the family 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Friday in the church. Funeral luncheon will follow the interment in the church.
