Margaret L. “Midge” Dilts, age 98, of Stryker, OH, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.

Midge was born on August 20, 1920 in Bryan, OH to the late Rollie and Beulah (Rosendahl) Stuller.  In March of 1945, she married Robert R. Dilts, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 1984.  Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Linda and Deb.

She led a very active life.  In her early years, she was the first class of women in the FBI and worked in fingerprint analysis.  She also worked retail for many years, working at Charles Company, Gorny Winzeler, and worked for Sauder Village when they first opened.

In her spare time, she enjoyed art – drawing, painting, and doing crafts.  She also enjoyed reading, golf (walking the entire course), tennis, Ohio State Football, and the Detroit Tigers.  Midge loved to serve people.  She wanted to be called the “Cookie Lady” as she would always take cookies to anyone – municipal workers and neighbors being among the few.

She was active in the Senior Citizens in Stryker, the Stryker Library, and the church guild at First Lutheran Church in Stryker.   Additionally, the family knew not to bother her on “Girl’s Day” – a weekly get-together of her and her friends where they would go to lunch or play cards.  Her biggest accomplishment is being a 45-year breast cancer survivor!

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Linda Reeves and Deb (Gene) Sauder; grandson, Christopher Reeves; great-granddaughter, Aurora Reeves; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Rollie Stuller and Frank Stuller, and sisters Maude Russell and Lois Beals.

Visitation for Midge will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker, OH.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Stryker, with Pastor Tamara Wood, officiating.  Interment will be private.

Those planning a memorial contribution in Midge’s memory are asked to consider the First Lutheran Church or the Stryker Public Library.

Online condolences to the family may be offered at www.grisierfh.com.  The Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with Midge’s care and arrangements.
