Marvin Schultz (1938-2018)

Marvin E. Schultz, 80, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at CHP Home Care & Hospice in Defiance, Ohio. He was born July 2, 1938, in Albion, New York, to the late Reuben and Ella (Neubieser) Schultz.

Marvin was a 1956 graduate of Kendall High School in Kendall, New York. Marvin was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1956-58. After returning from the military, he graduated from Rochester Business Institute.

He married Joan H. Potter on Feb. 4, 1961, in Hornell, New York, and she passed away March 18, 2005. He married Cecelia A. (Dillon) Flegal in Edgerton, Ohio, and she survives in Bryan, Ohio

Marvin worked as office manager and bookkeeper in automotive sales in Western New York for over 50 years. He was a member of the Trinity Bible Church in Edgerton, Ohio. Marvin also was a member of the Auburn Elks. He enjoyed golfing, mowing at Bridgewater Golf Club, listening to music, his beloved dog, Bogey, and began taking art lessons, which he truly loved.


Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy and Paul Golliff of Auburn and Karen Schultz of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Brian Nan, Elizabeth Nan, Adam Nan, Benjamin Dillinger and Jason Dillinger; special nephew, Gary Schultz; and stepchildren, Tim (Marie) Brown of Huntsville, Alabama, Jim Brown of Edgerton, Ohio, Mike (Tracy) Brown of Angola, Jennifer (Mitch) Bowsher of Hicksville, Ohio, Tony (Amanda) Brown of Bryan, Ohio, and Matt (Peggy) Brown of Edgerton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joan Schultz; son-in-law, Matthew Nan; and brother, Melvin Schultz.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Monday prior to the service. Pastor Matt Brown will be officiating. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation also will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.
