The Maumee Valley Planning Organization (MVPO), designated as a regional planning and development organization, is seeking public input via an online survey. This survey is designed to gather opinions on the economic development issues in the five-county region, which includes Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, and Williams counties in Northwest Ohio. The survey asks participants a series of questions based upon the following topics: Competitive Regional Resources, Housing, Transportation, Employment, and Demographic Information.

The survey is brief and should take no longer than 10 minutes. The survey can be accessed online via the following link: www.mvpo.org/ceds. A printed copy may also be obtained by contacting MVPO at 419-784-3882 or email (mvpo@mvpo.org). The survey will be open now until June 1, 2017.
The survey results will be included in MVPO’s update to its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). This long-term strategic planning document was approved by regional leaders and the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) in 2012. MVPO applied for and received a grant from the EDA this past fall to update the CEDS by September 2018.

The successful update and implementation of this plan will enable MVPO to apply to become an Economic Development District, which will ultimately provide greater federal funding opportunities for economic development projects in the region.
